Care and Rehab for my recently amputated right leg.

Hello all, my name is Nicholas Pruitt. I have a complex medical history: Colorectal Cancer, obesity/weight loss, Sarcoidosis, Pacemaker/Bradycardia and now an Amputation. After many months of struggle, illness and believing I had lymphoma (Cancer Round 2) from last August to this April. This is when I finally received a diagnosis of Sarcoidosis and a biopsy of my spleen came back cancer free. I was on an unpaid medical leave but have since ended my twenty-four year tenure with West Tennessee Healthcare. Being underemployed for many months I had exhausted my resources and am currently homeless.

Update: I spent a large part of the summer in and out of hospitals or camping out of my car and/or living in a shed. Unfortunately while working to survive I developed a wound in my right foot. I spent several months trying to heal, but due to circumstances I failed. A staph infection, gangrene and sepsis, claimed my foot and I nearly waited to long to go to the ER. The amputation was finalized on August 1st. Currently I am staying at Northbrooke Post Acute rehabbing. Of course the current crisis, the amputation, falls at a time in which I am unemployed and uninsured for the first time in 27 years. While it doesn't help me dig out of the current financial hole, I have received good care and am healing well (right leg). Of course I still have the autoimmune disease, which is affecting my spleen, sternum, right femur, lungs, heart (damage to left ventricle) and lymph system. I believe the immunosuppressants, specifically a large dose of daily steroids contributed to my foot wound failing to heal. Regardless here I am. I am alive. I am thankful.

Medical History/ailments
Stage 2 rectal Cancer - I beat this but have lived with an ostomy since. August/2010
Drastic weight loss - 460lbs, to a current 235
Bradycardia/Pacemaker - August 2024 - This came out of nowhere, and possibly caused by the Sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis - Diagnosed April 2025
Right foot Amputation - August 1, 2025.
