I’m so excited and proud to announce I’ve been selected, at the age of 25, to represent England at the upcoming 2024 World Deaf Golf Championships in Australia in August.
This means the world to me – an opportunity to play a sport I love for my Country, and simultaneously help highlight Deaf sport within the UK.
My deaf golf journey began at the age of 7, from Wexham Park Golf Club in Slough, Eton College Golf Club and latterly St Ives (Cambs) Golf Club, all of whom I owe so much to for the support and encouragement.
I do need help though, Government funding for Deaf sport is minimal and England Deaf Golf do not receive any kind of funding from any governing bodies so I need to raise some money to help with travel, accommodation and event fees. The target I have set won’t cover everything I need but it will help significantly.
Anything raised above the target will be donated to the NDCS (The National Deaf Children Society) - A charity that helped me throughout my childhood and who do incredible work with families and children with hearing impairments.
