My sweet cousin Nicole Lind (Dietrich)'s son Nicholas was born on March 26, 2025, and soon after, his family received the heartbreaking news that he has stage 3 Hepatoblastoma. Hepatoblastoma is a rare type of liver cancer that mostly affects young children. Stage 3 means the cancer has spread within the liver and is more difficult to treat. Right now, Nicholas is in the hospital receiving chemotherapy, and his family is doing everything they can to support him through this incredibly difficult time.

In the coming months, Nicholas and his mom will need to move to Los Angeles so he can receive a life-saving liver transplant. This means being away from home, family, and the comfort of their community, all while facing the challenges of ongoing treatment.

The costs are overwhelming—medical bills, travel to and from LA, daily living expenses, and the need to keep life as normal as possible for Nicholas’s two brothers. While Nicholas’s dad continues working and caring for the boys at home, his mom will be by Nicholas’s side every step of the way. The family is doing their best, but they can’t do it alone.
