Help Nicci and Jordan with IVF!

What’s this for?

This gofundme is to help two wonderful people, Nicci and Jordan, get the funds together necessary to have a baby using IVF. Nicci and Jordan have suffered not once, but twice from an ectopic pregnancy, which has left Nicci without viable Fallopian tubes. They will not be able to conceive naturally, but their doctor believes they would be great candidate to conceive using IVF.

Why this cause matters!

I have known Nicci (and Jordan) for 7 years, and as many of you know, Nicci and Jordan are the kind of people we want becoming parents. Nicci and Jordan are model citizens; they are social workers and provide valuable service to our community, spending their days helping people who struggle with substance abuse. Nicci and Jordan already have the makings for a warm and happy home for a baby. They have three adorable cats, a vegetable garden, artistic hobbies (Nicci dances and Jordan paints), and most importantly they have a strong and stable relationship. One of the first things you will learn when you meet Nicci or Jordan is that they will speak very enthusiastically and lovingly about one another. The two of them are constantly supporting each other, laughing at each other’s jokes, and can talk to each other about anything.

As you may know the cost of IVF is exorbitant and frequently prohibitive to regular people. Below we have provided a cost breakdown for one cycle; these amounts are based off a cost estimate provided by ORM Fertility in Portland, Oregon.

Our Fundraising Goal:

We hope to raise $20,000 for Nicci and Jordan. As you can see above, that still leaves them with ~$8,000-14,000 in expenses. But whatever amount we earn, everyone’s donations matter and are still helping two amazing people with the cost, come what may. Additionally, we think a goal of one year for this $20,000 would be reasonable, because the IVF process will take some time, and let’s face it, most of us aren’t millionaires!

What it might take to raise $20,000

• If 100 people donate $16.66/month for one year, we will meet the goal.
• If 50 people donate $33.33/month for one year, we will meet the goal.
• If 25 people donate $66.66/month for one year, we will meet the goal.

Please Note: I don't believe there is a way for you to set up a recurring donation, so  we will continue to posting this link and discussing the procedure over this next year.
