HELP NIC START OVER

In late May, in the early hours of the morning, an electrical fire broke out in the second storey of Nic's home, engulfing the whole top floor. If it wasnt for Nic's dog Gordy, she wouldn't have got out in time.

Thankfully, Nic's daughter, and friend Dakini weren't home at the time.

Our Nic suffered superficial burns, though had severe airway burns. She was rushed to ED, was put in a medically induced coma, being treated in ICU at the Alfred. After fighting hard through secondary infection she was able to be discharged, she's got a long way to healing.

Nic is a single mum, balancing working as a vet nurse, being a loving mum to her daughter, and living with chronic health conditions. Shes well known for her local puppy training, and love for animals. She was saving up to buy the home she was renting.

The house is so badly damaged that the whole structure will need to be demolished. What didn't burn, was damaged by smoke and water, and is unsafe. Nic and her daughter have lost everything, nothing was salvagable.

Nic is a much loved Yarra Valley and LYSS community membea and she will need to start from scratch. Help us wrap our loving arms around Nic and family to raise some much needed funds.
