Help Nic & Harriet say goodbye to Dan

Hi, My name is Raelee Golding.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I am writing this story to garner support for a beautiful young family in crisis.

I have known and loved both Nic and Danny since the early nineties and although we have not lived in the same city in recent years, when I lost my child to SIDS and was gripped by despair, it was Nic and Danny who banged on my door and kept coming back time and time again to coax me out of grief and back to life. For that I will be forever grateful and forever committed to our enduring friendship!

As we speak, Nic bids the saddest farewell to her beautiful and loving husband, Danny. Having experienced a massive brain aneurysm on Thursday 16.09.21, Dan has been in the ICU ever since, and Nic received the devastating news that the damage to his brain is so catastrophic, that there is nothing further that can be done to save him. He died peacefully yesterday evening, 14.10.21 under the vigilant & beautifully dignified care of the doctors & nurses at Charlie Gardiner. 

If you know this family, or even if you don't, you can imagine the shock of having a vibrant 44 year old man taken so suddenly and so unexpectedly, without even so much as a chance to say goodbye. My heart aches for them and especially for their beautiful daughter Harriet, who at just ten years of age is struggling to grasp the magnitude of what is happening to their family.

So with that said, I implore you to please raid whatever rainy day funds you have! We can in no way ease the pain of such a sudden loss, but what we can do is ease the financial burden that an unexpected funeral will illicit, together with the uncertainty of what the future holds having just moved states and still trying to get settled. Donations will be used to cover funeral & living expenses while Nic navigates her grief, supports Harriet & plans for a future that looks radically different to the one she pictured just a few short weeks ago.
