Help Nic get a new power assist for her wheelchair

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Nic I'm a 21 year old disabled woman. I was diagnosed with Charcot Marie tooth type 2A when I was 8. Its a neurological and hereditary motor neuropathy that severs the nerves from the muscles causing paralysis in the arms and legs. I have 3 muscles left in my left leg, 15 in my right, and not going to lie I'm VERY lucky and unlucky as someone with my disability. I'm lucky because I've had 4 surgeries that have stalled my progression, and was only wheelchair dependant from ages 8 to 17 and have used it off and on since then. I'm unlucky because according to health insurance, I'm disabled, but not disabled enough to get help when its comes to my wheelchair. So everything has always come out of pocket, which is terrifying because I no longer have any financial support and on my own and moving into an apartment in 4 months. Unfortunately, my physical health comes and goes and there are times when I have extreme physical fatigue, this being one of those times. My wheelchair power assist has been dead for a while, its 9 years old, and I've tried doing everything in my power to revive or fix it but nothing has worked and the model I have for my power assist has been discontinued for the last 4 years and only has a 5 year lifespan. So I'm very lucky to have gotten as many years out of it as I have. However, I'm hitting a really bad physical decline where I can barely be on my feet for an hour and work almost 5 days a week, which I have to do so I can afford rent in the bay area. All I need is to get a new power assist and I will be able to easily wheel to the bus and wheel around work so I won't constantly feel nauseous or like my body is at 10% energy. My wheelchair is still in really good condition, however, without the power assist, its crazy heavy. I'm sadly not as buff as I was when I was 13 and using a push wheelchair. My arms/hands have started going downhill and having muscle spasms and locking, which makes it even harder to push the wheelchair on my own. I can't dip into my savings for apartments because I need those in case I get sick and need to pay for rent and haven't worked enough hours to cover it. To be completely honest, I'm terrified, I'm still adjusting to adult life, I lost all my childhood doctors because I've aged out of their care, and i don't qualify for a majority of resources I've looked into, I was so excited cause I haven't needed my wheelchair for almost 4 months, but the biggest downside of chronic illnesses is that they hit you hard and fast without warning. Please help in any way you can, even if it's $1 or $0.50, I really need help and fast. Thank you to everyone who read this far and I hope you all have a great day
