Help Nikolas Beachy & Jordan Dunbar Beachy with Severe Burns

Nikolas Beachy and Jordan Dunbar Beachy are the kind of couple who never hesitate to help those around them. They met while Jordan was living in Beaufort where Nic was a marine. These hardworking newlyweds have three jobs between them. Nicolas puts in long hours in the HVAC field while Jordan has been working one job while getting her portable dog washing business up and running.

Unfortunately, Nik was severely burned on the night of July 4 in an accident. It left him with third degree burns on most of his right leg and part of his left. Initially taken to a local hospital, Nik was immediately transferred to the Burn Center in Norfolk Va. The doctor there sent Nik home after stabilizing him, cleaning his burns, and administering IV antibiotics

Over the weekend, Jordan had to place towels under Nik's leg due to the high volume of fluid that oozed out of his burns. An inability to walk sent Nik back to the hospital July 8. It turned out the outer gauze wrapping on his leg was put on too tightly and was cutting off his circulation to his foot. He had to be heavily medicated, and the outer layer of his bandage had to be rewrapped. He was then sent back home. Nik has made multiple trips to the hospital. He has continued painful treatments.

The severity of these injuries and the fact that HVAC often requires crawling under houses means that Nic will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. Paying their regular bills with only Jordan working part time and caring for Nik is going to be a challenge, but paying medical bills and the other costs associated with long term burn care may be completely overwhelming. The bills so far stand at over $15,000 and do not include his latest treatment from this past week. (July 20) Nik's insurance is refusing to cover his treatment and that is why we have started this go fund me campaign.

3. Specialized Burn Centers:

o Severe burns are typically treated in specialized burn centers.

o These centers provide extra fluids, blood transfusions, and skin grafts to speed up the healing process.

o As a result, a severe burn can easily cost a victim more than $1 million
