Hello all!
I hope this message finds you well. I'm raising funds for my dear friend, Nia Fae, also known as Chalupa Picada, and her wife Taako Belle after a recent home emergency has put them in 5 figures of debt. Being a trans lesbian couple in America and living with chronic disability is already extremely tough for them. They've endured so much mistreatment and abuse already throughout their lives, and this is the least I can do to help them through such an unforeseen, debilitating event.
Recently, their home's roof was discovered to have immense structural damage and needs to be completely redone. The extent of the damage is still being calculated, as there could be consequences on the rest of the home as well. This is a home that they have put in lots of tender love and care towards fixing and making it suitable for her wife to live in. They've used it to provide temporary housing to others who needed a safe haven during difficult parts of their lives.
Nia and Taako are both amazing, positive, driving forces in the world. Always a pillar of support ready to help those in need, always amazing, superhuman role models, showing kindness to others in spite of all the abuse and trauma they have been through. They are advocates and role models that inspire other disabled, transgender/queer, and neurodivergents to live their happiest and fullest.
You may have seen Nia around, sharing her journey of self-acceptance and love quietly to others, personally cheering on and helping folks who are considering transitioning to understand all the details from a down-to-earth, realistic perspective. Perhaps you have seen her as a pink catgirl in the game Final Fantasy XIV, helping you prog or clear savage raids, or get items or gear. Nia has a heart of gold that deeply cares for other people, and it shows with every person she meets and in all her actions towards others.
I'd like to help my friend and her family as much as I can. This sudden incident has put my friend into a very depressive, dark place. She's the type to always try to solve her problems with her own power, by working harder herself, and not asking for help. It hurts to see her and her family in this dire situation, and I know she's struggling to handle this all on her own, even though she's trying her hardest to laugh and smile through it.
If you have the means to, every single dollar helps so much, and even without, your support and kind, loving words helps immensely. If you can, we'd love for you to share this around with your friends, to the rest of the LGBTQIA+, trans, or disabled communities, to other folks around the world, to come together and support in whatever ways possible.
