Hi, my name is Nia Cannon, and I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to compete at the Nike Outdoor Nationals this June at the University of Oregon — one of the most iconic stages in high school track & field!

I’ve qualified to compete in Triple Jump and as part of my school’s 4x100m relay team. Just being invited to this meet is a dream come true — but what makes it even more meaningful is how far I’ve come in such a short time.

I started track just last school year, after spending 10 years as a gymnast. Switching sports was a big leap of faith, and I had no idea what to expect. But I gave it everything I had — and now, in only my second year, I’ve qualified to compete at the national level.

Because my high school has never sent athletes to a national meet before and we found out last-minute that we had qualified, the school isn't able to provide funding for our trip — which is why I’m turning to this community for support.

Track has become a true passion of mine, and my goal is to earn an athletic scholarship for college. Competing at this meet is a huge opportunity for exposure and recruiting, and it could open doors for my future both on and off the track.

This journey has shown me the power of hard work, resilience, and belief in yourself. But I can’t take this next step without your help. Competing at the University of Oregon comes with costs like travel, lodging, meals, and meet entry fees, and I’m hoping to raise enough to cover those expenses.
