My World Fell Apart

I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask strangers for help to bring back the most important member of my family. My dog, Lychee, is more than just a pet. She is my heartbeat, my daily joy, my comfort, and my closest companion. For nearly four years, she has been with me through every high and low. Losing her has left a hole in my life that nothing else can fill.

How I Lost Her

On September 18, 2025, I left town and trusted a close friend and family member to take care of Lychee. I believed she would be safe, loved, and returned to me exactly as I left her. But when I came home on October 29, 2025, I found out the unthinkable. Lychee had been given to someone else.

I was told that because Lychee was on her period, the family I trusted could no longer care for her. They demanded two thousand dollars for vet and grooming care before returning her. I gathered the money, desperate to be reunited with my baby, but after that, all communication stopped. My attempts to reach out were ignored. The last I know, Lychee is living with someone who refuses to return her, even though people around them know she belongs with me.

Why Lychee Is Irreplaceable

Lychee is more than a dog. She has been with me since she was only eight weeks old. She has never been apart from me for more than fifteen hours at a time. She knows only me. She follows my routines, responds to my voice, and even shares my birthday. She is my family in every sense of the word.

Her absence has left my home empty and silent. Her little bed sits untouched. Her toys remain where she left them. Every time I walk through the door, I hope to hear the sound of her paws, the thump of her tail, her excited little jumps. Every time I hear nothing, my heart breaks all over again.

Some nights I cannot sleep. Some days I cannot even bring myself to go home. My grief is overwhelming and I am struggling to cope.

What I Am Doing to Bring Her Back

I have filed a police report and I am preparing to hire a private investigator to locate Lychee. I am also seeking legal guidance to make sure everything is done safely and correctly.
