In Loving Memory of Nhoeun Gnim

February 28, 1951 – September 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, husband, and grandfather, Nhoeun Gnim, who left us peacefully on September 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Nhoeun was born in Battambang, Cambodia, in 1951. He lived through unimaginable hardship, surviving the horrors of genocide before seeking refuge and hope in the United States in 1985. His life was a testament to resilience, strength, and the enduring will to provide a better future for his family.

Music was Nhoeun’s passion—it wasn't just a form of expression, but also his way of supporting those he loved. With his incredible talent, he brought joy to many and worked tirelessly to care for his growing family. His songs carried the stories of his homeland, the pain of survival, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Nhoeun leaves behind his devoted wife, Hoeun Chum, his 5 daughters, 3 sons, 1 adopted son, and 20+ beautiful grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life. His legacy lives on through them—through their laughter, their strength, and the values he instilled in each of them.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, his music, and his love will forever echo in our hearts.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help honor Nhoeun’s memory and to assist with funeral expenses and support for his family during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward helping the family navigate this profound loss.
