Help Me Return to Howard University – I’m Just $5,000 Away!
Hi, my name is Ngozi Vaughn, and I’m a Computer Science major at Howard University. Being a student at Howard has been one of the most empowering experiences of my life. Surrounded by Black excellence, innovation, and history, I’ve found purpose in technology and a passion for using it to drive positive change in our communities.
However, I’ve recently hit a financial hurdle. I currently have an outstanding balance of $5,000 on my student account.
I’ve worked hard to cover as much as I can through jobs, scholarships, and grants, but I’m now at a point where I need help. I’m reaching out to friends, family, mentors, and anyone who believes in the power of education and equity to help me close this final gap.
As a Computer Science major, my dream is to become a software engineer who builds tools that uplift underrepresented communities, especially young Black girls like me who are often discouraged from entering STEM fields. I want to change that narrative. I've already begun mentoring, teaching coding to students, and using tech to make education more accessible — but I can’t keep going without being in school.
Howard is where I’ve found my voice, my purpose, and my people. With your help, I can continue learning, growing, and laying the foundation for a future where I can give back tenfold.
Any amount you give will help me get one step closer to staying in school. If you aren’t in a position to donate, please consider sharing this campaign; it means just as much.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and belief in me.
With deep gratitude,
Ngozi Vaughn.
