HELP New vehicle needed

Please give generously to help buy a vehicle for a carer organisation who provide a vital service for some special children in the Bristol area. Without a new vehicle this service will have to stop.


Respite Explorers is a community organisation that provides much needed respite for children with additional needs in the Bristol area. It is run by Emma and Jake and their team who are all committed to providing the kids fun and engaging experiences. It is not just a job to them but they take genuine pleasure in building strong relationships with their children whatever their additional need or disability. The children can’t wait to go out with Emma and Jake to farms, cycling trips, swimming, the seaside and many other fun and engaging places. They provide not only vital respite for families, who not only need a break from caring, but also find it desperately difficult to find carers who they trust to understand and care for their special kids. If you add that they also have a great time with Respite Explorers, then you have very happy parents. 


Respite Explorers like many care organisations struggle for adequate funding and to make it viable for Emma and Jake and team to continue to provide their wonderful service.  They have to pay themselves and recruit their team on a basic level of funding, but this does not cover transport. Running a vehicle big enough to ferry the kids to all their exciting trips is a constant challenge. Their last 7 seater Zafira,  gave up the ghost and they will have to cease the service unless they can get a new vehicle that they can afford to buy, and that does not constantly need costly repairs. It also needs to be ULEZ compliant as the clean air zone starts in Bristol in May 2022. Second hand cars of this type and are at historically high prices so this is a double whammy for Respite Explorers. Please give what you can, you will be helping put a smile on the faces of some special children, who need all the help and fun they can get!
