Provide Transportation for a New Orleans Houseless Patient

As medical students at Tulane University School of Medicine, our student-run clinics provide over $300,000 in free healthcare annually to the New Orleans community. While we are able to offer essential medical services, one of our biggest challenges remains: helping patients reach additional appointments for more advanced care. Many of our patients lack transportation options, making it difficult or even impossible for them to receive the follow-up care they need.

For instance, every year, our dedicated volunteers conduct thousands of screenings for tuberculosis (TB). When a patient tests positive, they must attend follow-up appointments for further evaluation and treatment. Without reliable transportation, however, many patients are unable to get to these essential appointments, putting their health and well-being at serious risk.

This is where we need your help. By contributing just $5, you can fund a round-trip ride on the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) for a patient in need. With your support, we can provide these patients with more than just an address and directions — we can give them a practical, reliable way to reach their appointments and improve their health outcomes.
