I am starting this fundraiser to help my neighbour, Madelaine Venart, with the fees associated with her horse rescue operations. Over the last 3 years, Maddie has rescued a dozen horses, ponies and minis from a life of terrible conditions and no medical or maintenance care, bringing them home to her self-made Honeydew Haven sanctuary in rural Prince Edward Island. I've watched as Maddie has patiently guided these frightened and unkempt animals into confident, healthy and best of all - happy - stable mates under her knowledgeable and loving care.

Recently, Maddie learned of a miniature horse in another province who was not receiving the care she needed, which became more urgent when she arrived at Honeydew Haven about to have a foal and in pain from an injured eye that had gone untreated for some time.

Now on pain medication for her eye injury, and the proud mama of sweet little Peaches, we are asking for your help to cover the unexpected costs of removing Ripple's right eye, which the veterinarian says will allow her to live happy and pain free with her new foal on Maddie's farm.
