To my friends, family, and anyone willing to read this, I’m asking for help for our girl, Neva. Neva is our white husky mix. People always say she looks a little like a wolf, and honestly, she has always carried herself like one too. She was Dean’s first dog and the first pet we brought into our first real home together. From the beginning, she has been more than a pet. She has been part of the family. If you know Neva, then you know she is always there. She is the one laying beside Dean during movies, the one curled up near him when he sleeps, the one following us from room to room, and the one who helped turn this house into a home. She has been part of so many moments that matter to us, both big and small.
Recently, we noticed she was limping, and we could hear her knee popping when she moved. After taking her to the vet, we found out she needs TPLO surgery on her right leg. It is the best chance for her to walk, run, and live comfortably again. We were told that with proper rehab, she should be able to get back to normal life, which means a lot since she is only 5 years old.
To be transparent, this is a major surgery with consultation, procedure, medication, follow-up care, and recovery costs attached to it. I also went ahead and applied for CareCredit to help cover what I can on my end, because I am doing everything I can to make this happen for her.
I am not someone who asks for help easily, but I am asking now because Neva means that much to us. She is Dean’s buddy and my little office loafer. She is family. She deserves the chance to heal and get back to being herself. Between both boys, keeping the house together, and taking care of both dogs, things are tight, but we always find a way, Lord willing. Anything helps, and if you are not able to give, even sharing this would mean a lot to us. Thank you for being in Neva’s corner. With gratitude, Dusty
