I've known Nestor since high school. We grew up skating together, and he's one of those friends who'd show up for anyone — a naturally caring guy with a big heart, especially for his kids. Right now he's the one who could use a hand, and I want to help him get there.

Nestor lives in Mexico and the last few months have hit him from every direction. He just had twins, both born with special needs — it took six different formulas and five different pediatricians before they found something the babies could keep down. The stress piled up to the point that Nestor had a seizure at work, and the very next day he was let go. Around the same time, his car was rear-ended and totaled, and the insurance didn't come through.

He's been out of work for about two months now. He has no family nearby, and his mom is recovering from surgery, so leaning on his parents isn't an option he wants to take. He's not looking for a handout — he's trying to get back on his feet: a job and a car, and he says he'll be good from there.

The car is the piece that unlocks the rest. Without one, he's spending four hours a day on public transit just to get to and from work — time he's not spending with his twins and his 5-year-old. A dependable used car gives him back his time and the ability to take a job that actually pays.

In the story of the Good Samaritan, plenty of people saw the man on the side of the road and kept walking. The one who stopped is the one we remember. This is a chance to be the one who stops — to not pass by a good man going through a hard stretch.

I'm collecting the funds and getting them straight to Nestor so he can buy a reliable used car. Once he's got it, I'll post photos here so you can see exactly where your help went.
