Hi there, neighbors.

My name is Neshama, I’m 25 years old and immunocompromised. At the end of February/beginning of March, I was very sick with the flu, and I am grateful I made it through. While sick and recovering, I missed 6 days of work. That being said, I did not make enough money this month to pay my rent.

The end of the month is upon us- my balance in my back account is dangerously low, and my upcoming paycheck will not be enough to cover my rent. I’ll be about 450-485 dollars short, depending how accurate my estimate of what my next check will be is.

I was homeless on and off for the last 10 years, and I am willing to do anything to stay housed and safe.

My attempts at securing gig work have been futile, as the end of the month is fast approaching, and it’s hard to land gigs with my 48.5 hr work week. On top of frantically trying to figure this out, my ex partner got a hold of my information and used it for 150$ in Ubers, and almost 100$ for a DoorDash order. My attempts to dispute those charges 5 different times, arguing on the phone, sending emails, I’m not able to succeed.

I am asking in all earnest for some support pulling through to April. Hopefully, I will not get sick again and this will all work out okay.

I would be grateful for any and all support I can get- and when I can, I will pay it forward.

I have asked everyone who I can to lend me the money, and everyone I have asked has been not in a place financially to help me work this all out.

so, I’m asking my beautiful community, who I have to thank for all of their love and support while I figure out how to get on my feet as a now-adult who has spent the better part of my life struggling with my health, my housing, and thusly my finances.
