Help Nero move home

In 2021 I moved over to Scotland with my cat Nero for school with plans to pursue a career here and settle. At the time this seemed like a reasonable goal. I didn’t actually intend to have a pet at that time as I’ve always said that I didn’t want that sort of responsibility until I was settled somewhere permanently. I bonded with Nero completely by accident and he became very attached it me. It felt cruel to leave him behind as he is a very anxious cat that does not open up to others easily. When I made the move it seemed like a reasonable investment as I had high hopes for my immigration prospects. With the state of the job market in the U.K. and changes to the immigration process I have no choice but to leave the country when my current visa expires. This was a move I was not fully prepared to make, as until the requirements for immigration had changed I was still intending to secure employment that would allow me to stay. Since graduating I have been unable to secure a job that would put me in a financial position where I was able to save for this potential. With rising costs, Nero’s transport fees have also risen. The U.K. does not allow the transport of animals in the cabin in flights. This leaves me with no choice but to send Nero as cargo again, which is a costly procedure that has only gone up in price since his initial move. Despite the costs associated I am unwilling to leave Nero behind. Having brought him abroad in the first place I feel I have a moral responsibility to bring him back to the States with me. Nero is also a very anxious and timid cat that has struggled to bond with other humans and it would feel exceedingly cruel to abandon him with people he has not formed a bond with. In addition to this, I am an autistic adult that has struggled severely with mental health over the past few years. Nero has been a vital source of determination for me to continue on and, emotionally, I could not cope with leaving him behind. The move overall will be expensive for both of us but the goal of this fundraiser is purely for Nero’s moving fees. Any and all funds raised will be put towards his move and his move alone. I am continuing to search for cheaper options to move him but I am not willing to compromise on his potential safety. He is more important to me than anything else during this move. If I am able to secure something less expensive for him I will adjust the goal appropriately or will refund any money in excess of that goal. I know it’s a difficult financial situation for most people at the moment. I don’t expect anyone to give anything but I appreciate anyone that has taken the time to read and that is willing to pass this around. Anyone that knows me knows that I adore this cat more than anything, any help is so sincerely appreciated in helping me keep my baby safe and with me.
