Join Me in Helping Out Nereid Boat Club
Hi, my name is Tanay Nandan, and on Sunday, August 8th, I will be waking up at 4 am, to walk for 30 miles from Millburn, NJ to the Bronx Zoo over 12 hours, to raise money for my rowing club. After our U17 girls got 2nd place at Rowing Nationals, our club has started to get lots of attention from youth talent across NJ. The club has helped me find my passion for rowing, and now I'm shooting to win nationals next year. Our club has talent, but what it lacks is the new, faster carbon fiber boats that the big clubs have. I hate that of all problems to hold back a prospective club, it has to be money. Rowing is an expensive sport, and these high tech boats cost more than $10,000. By the end of freshman year in high school I want to have bought my club a whole boat. For this walk, I want to raise $34 for every half mile that I walk (to hit $2,000), so if you could fund a half mile or even more on my journey that would be awesome, but any donation above $5 is very much appreciated.
Nereid Boat Club, established 1868, sits on the banks of the pristine Passaic River and is one of the oldest and most prestigious rowing clubs on the eastern seaboard. The Club places high in national rankings every year, especially in U17 girls who have excelled recently in competition. The rowers and the coaches are talented, filled with drive, and ready to dominate!
Please help me and my boat club reach #1
Thank You
Tanay Nandan
