Preventative Procedure Gone Wrong

Donation protected
THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE:

Imagine that you do everything by the book—including maintaining what you thought is “adequate”  health insurance. Because of your family history with cancer, you decide to make a preventative appointment for a routine medical procedure, only to find yourself hospitalized for more than four (4)  months, with your lifetime maximum insurance coverage of EC $1,000,000/US$368,000 exhausted, and still in need of  critical medical procedures!

HERE’S HOW SHE GOT HERE:

Following her mother’s diagnosis of Colorectal Cancer in 2013, Nerdin and her siblings have been proactive in getting themselves checked by doing colonoscopies every three years.

In April 2019, Nerdin had  a colonoscopy;  and during the procedure, 3 polyps were found and removed. Some time later it was discovered that her bowel had been perforated (punctured), leading to multiple surgeries  in Saint Lucia and Florida.

Having had portions of her large intestine removed, Nerdin is now dealing with Short Bowel Syndrome. When she has her meals, the food spits out of her body within two hours via an ileostomy bag   and her body  is not absorbing sufficient nutrients. The ileostomy bag is a temporary solution!

The estimated cost for the reversal procedure, along with her hospitalization, will be in the region of US$150,000.

Nerdin needs your help in raising funds for a reversal surgery, which she's hopeful, can be scheduled for early 2020 provided funds are raised by December 2019. The procedure will allow her Surgeon to rejoin her intestine so that she can have a better chance for a normal life.

Nerdin no longer has medical insurance as her surgeries and hospital care has now surpassed the maximum insurance coverage allowed under her policy during her lifetime (EC $1,000,000/US$368,000). Important to note that insurance companies in the region will not cover her pre-existing condition—and as such, she will be required to cover all expenses for her next surgery.

As Nerdin is an independent Consultant, her income is contingent on contracts secured. Right before her diagnosis, she was successful in her bid for two contracts--both of which, she was forced to give up due to her unexpected health crisis. Her last surgery kept her in hospitals in Saint Lucia and the USA for more than four (4) months.

YOUR SUPPORT WILL CHANGE A LIFE:

Although Nerdin has asked the “why” question. She remains steadfast in her faith in GOD and continues to seek daily refuge in him. She is seeking your prayers as she continues to TRUST that he will see her through to full recovery.

In addition to your prayers, Nerdin needs your assistance in defraying the cost of her upcoming surgery and related hospital care. Please contribute what you can to help and remember to share with your family and friends!

Nerdin, her family and friends, are beyond grateful for your prayers and contributions.

Thanking you in advance!
