The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), NCC USA, Iowa Chapter, is raising funds to support families and communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.
Nepal is facing one of its most devastating natural disasters in recent years. As of now, authorities have recovered at least 1000 + bodies, while thousands of people remain missing. International tourists have also been caught in the disaster, with Nepal’s government reporting nearly 1000 people from more than 35 countries still missing. Entire communities have been overwhelmed by floodwaters and debris, damaging homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure and leaving families in urgent need of shelter, food, clean water, medical assistance and recovery support.
NRNA NCC USA is a nonprofit community organization serving Nepalis living across the United States. Through its state chapters, including the Iowa Chapter, NRNA works to connect and support the Nepali diaspora, promote Nepali culture and community engagement, and mobilize humanitarian assistance during times of need. The Iowa Chapter is operated through community leadership and volunteers who work together to organize programs, charitable initiatives, and relief efforts for communities both in the United States and Nepal.
All donations collected through this GoFundMe will be deposited directly into NRNA Iowa’s organizational bank account and will be used only for verified flood-relief and recovery efforts through Prime Ministers Relief Fund, Government of Nepal.
Funds may support emergency food and water, shelter, medical needs, essential supplies, and recovery assistance. NRNA Iowa will maintain oversight of the funds and will provide an update on the amount raised and how the money is distributed.
Please stand with Nepal. Every contribution can make a huge difference.
