My name is Bishal Belbase. I am a physician and one of the co-founders of Karma Health. Our team has put this fundraiser so that we can continue to provide essential healthcare to the 30,000 people in Rajpur, a remote valley in south-western Nepal, where the services we provide are the only source of quality healthcare.
Karma Health is a non-profit organization registered in Nepal which:
- deploys the only physician in the region,
- trains and pays professional community health workers who visit every household for regular health checks and care coordination for pregnant women, children, and those living with chronic non-communicable diseases, and
- provides monthly ultrasound services for pregnant women even in remote roadless villages by clinical team walking on foot to reach there.
All our services are provided free of cost.
Sadly, we're struggling to pay providers and deliver essential healthcare services. Last year, we couldn't raise sufficient funds to repair the ultrasound machine and the internet equipment damaged by lightening. The municipality's support was not enough to cover expanded services. That is why, your support is crucial to sustain our efforts.
What Difference Can Your Donation Make?
$25 can fund a week of community health worker's job, facilitating about 50 home visits.
$50 can fund cost of about three rural mobile ultrasound clinic sessions, ensuring safer pregnancies for about 25 hopeful mothers.
$200 can fund the weekly payments to a physician, enabling crucial medical services.
Similarly, nearly $2000 will be needed to repair ultrasound device and resume the services.
