Help Nepal Fight Covid

Donation protected

Nepal is on the brink of collapse as covid ravages the country (much like India, except it has gotten much less attention internationally). In the face of the current humanitarian crisis in South Asia, Nepal's government/ health system is already failing, and things will only be getting worse before it gets better. Hospital beds have run out, crematoriums have been inundated, and oxygen is in short supply.

One of the poorest countries in the world, Nepal is grossly underprepared to tackle this crisis on its own, and we badly need help in whatever way we get it. As in any other crisis, the worst hit is the most vulnerable in the society: rural residents, ethnic minorities, caste-oppressed, religious minorities, and the poor. The government has turned a blind eye to the crisis, but we won't. We are thus going to make sure that the respective organizations who are fighting for the most vulnerable get enough resources to do so.

Please help us. We need donations, no matter how small. The collected sum will be strategically allocated to NGOs, INGOs, and agencies working tirelessly to combat the pandemic. The coalition will perform the due diligence and planning to ensure every penny collected has the maximum positive impact on Nepal’s depleting pandemic plight. Every detail about how the money will be allocated to different organizations fighting this insurmountable war against this virus will be made available on our website.

Every single dollar counts!

Usage of the funds:
The Student Coalition of Nepal has made a progress in ensuring an impactful use of the funds raised. Rather than waiting to meet the goal of 50k dollars, SCN has decided to withdraw the amount raised so far (18.5k dollars) and use it to meet the demands of oxygen in Nepal. SCN has signed an MoU with 'Creasion Nepal'. Under the agreement, Creasion Nepal is now our collaborative and distributive partner to procure 70 oxygen cylinders for a rough estimate of 15k dollars and distribute 10 each to 7 different hospitals, one from each province in Nepal, under its "Oxygen for Nepal" initiative. A detailed report of the purchase, distribution, and the names of the beneficiary hospitals will be updated on our website as soon as Creasion Nepal provides us with all valid documents. An announcement regarding the purchase has been made through our social media pages for now.
