Neo is almost 11 years old. His mom was my neighbor and passed away October, 2025. Neo was alone with her body for several days before being found, and then was surrendered to the animal shelter because no one in her family wanted him.

I adopted Neo the morning after he was taken to the shelter. He was in poor health and needed immediate care. We started by treating his skin infection, eye infection, and hyperthyroidism. Once those were stabilized, we learned Neo has diabetes. This has been difficult to manage. Neo’s medical bills are growing, and he still needs testing for cushings disease (this is believed to be why his diabetes is difficult to manage) and hopefully a dental. We did a full eye work up and learned his tear ducts are not producing tears causing severe dryness and eye infections, so I apply a medicated cream twice a day.

Neo will be going back in today for the 5th visit since beginning to treat his symptoms from Diabetes. The expenses are draining me and I don't want to hold back on his care. I acted quickly to adopt him and maybe should have helped a rescue take him in and me foster him for the rescue. I couldn't have imagined the amount of money he would need for his care.

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. I have volunteered and donated to other animal causes all my adult life. I am single and did not plan on adopting another senior dog with expensive health bills but I could not let Neo go into the shelter system after learning of how his mom passed.
