We’re reaching out today to ask for your support in helping an extraordinary young athlete—my 17 year-old nephew, Enrique Navarro Bermejo, affectionately known as “Nene”—seize a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Nene has been accepted into Sheffield Basketball College, one of the UK’s top institutions for aspiring athletes, where he’ll begin his studies on 1st September 2025.

This program offers more than just basketball—it combines elite athletic development with strong academics, giving student-athletes like Nene the foundation they need for bright futures. Thanks to his hard work and exceptional talent, Nene has already been awarded a 50% scholarship to attend—a remarkable achievement that reflects his potential both on and off the court.

As Captain of the Gibraltar National Basketball Team (GABBA), Nene has shown remarkable commitment, leadership, and drive. Now, with this new chapter ahead of him, he’s one step closer to realizing his ultimate dream: to play in the NBA. That goal may be bold, but it’s powered by years of discipline, sacrifice, and a love for the game that continues to grow.

The remaining financial cost of this opportunity—including tuition, accommodation, travel, equipment, and living expenses—totals approximately £1,200 per month for two years (£28,800). While our family is contributing as much as we can, we’re seeking support to help bridge the gap and ensure Nene can focus fully on achieving his dream.
