Nelson Was Hit While Riding His Bike. Left in the Road. Now He Needs Us.
Nelson—our friend, coworker, and an incredible poker dealer at Rivers Portsmouth—was hit by a car while riding his bike. The driver left him in the street and kept going.
He woke up in a hospital with no memory of what happened.
Since then, it’s been a nightmare:
• Concussion and serious vision problems
• A shattered leg with an open fracture
• His dealing hand crushed—broken thumb, fingers, and palm
• No insurance until July
• Multiple surgeries still delayed as he tries to figure out next steps
He’s stuck in a hospital bed, in pain, alone, and unsure what comes next. He hasn’t left the bed in days. The emotional weight is as heavy as the physical.
Nelson’s the kind of guy who shows up, stays humble, keeps his head down, and puts in work. He never complains.
We’re raising money to help with:
• Urgent surgeries and medical treatment
• Rehab and therapy
• Rent, bills, and daily living while he can’t work
• A little breathing room to recover in peace
Please donate if you can. And if you can’t, a simple share helps more than you know.
Nelson didn’t deserve this—but he does deserve a community that shows up for him.
We love you, Nelson. We’ve got your back.
