Nelson tried desperately to throw the firecrackers out of his pocket, but the flames spread rapidly. His screams echoed through the neighborhood, and by the time help arrived, he had suffered severe 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the right side of his body, including his genitals.
Nelson is now in a Honduran hospital, enduring immense pain and facing a long road to recovery. The hospital lacks the resources to provide the specialized care he needs, and his family is struggling to afford the extensive medical treatment required.
