My name is Danny Gill, and I have been dear friends with Nellie Rose for the better part of 25 years. Myself and my wife Kayla Gill, are asking our community who know Nellie and Diana, to consider helping two of the most kind and deserving people we know.
If anyone can be described as resilient, Nellie and Diana Rose take the cake. These two beautiful human beings have overcome so many obstacles and struggles over the decades, and have done so with strength that some of us may never have to experience. If you've been fortunate enough to call them your friends, you know that Nellie and Diana have the kindest hearts and endless compassion for other people. Nellie has single handedly lent his ear and shoulder to nearly all their family and friends over the course of time. One of his famous sayings....."This too shall pass".....has probably made most all of our problems feel a little less heavy. Anyone that has confided in Nellie and Diana has most certainly come out the other side feeling it, a little bit easier to breathe.
Nellie and Diana's hearts were forever shattered when they had the excruciating task of burying their daughter and grandson. Something no parent or grandparent should ever have to think about. Nellie has also overcome cancer like the true warrior he is. Life has not been fair to these two, but their will to keep on keepin' on has been nothing short of inspiring.
Hurricane Milton was unforgiving to Nellie and Diana. They prepared the best they could and packed up and evacuated to stay with family to ride out the storm, to then return the following day to find their home had been completely destroyed. The simple and comfortable life they both worked so hard their whole lives to achieve, has now been taken from them. They have a long road ahead to fully recover and if anyone deserves a little help, it's Nellie and Diana. Funds will be used to rebuild and repair their home, replacing furniture and clothing, and basic necessities.
