Our family is walking through one of the hardest seasons we have ever faced. My sister, Nella, a loving mother of three beautiful children and one of the kindest souls you could ever meet, has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer.

Recently, she underwent brain surgery. By God’s grace, she made it through the operation, but her journey is far from over. The doctors have shared that she will need rehabilitation therapy to regain her strength, balance and more, followed by chemotherapy and long-term treatment to continue fighting this disease.

Despite the pain and uncertainty, Nellita continues to hold on to her faith. She has always believed that God has a purpose for everything, and she faces each day with courage, grace, and gratitude, she has been the rock for so many when the going gets hard.

Anyone who knows her knows that she has spent a lot of her time helping others. She is the first to offer a shoulder to cry on, arrange support for others, leading the school’s parent organization or “mom room” for so many years, the soccer mom who became the glue of the team’s moms, the heart that lifts all others and the person who never forgets to check in when times are tough. She has given so much love and support to everyone around her, now it is our turn to give back to her.

Her husband has been steady through all of this working tirelessly to care for her and their children, managing the home, and doing everything he can to keep their family afloat. But the financial strain of medical bills, travel to appointments, medications, and everyday needs has become overwhelming, now more with the journey ahead, that it is more than one person can bear alone.

That’s why we are reaching out and humbly asking for help. Your generosity will help cover:

    •    Hospital and rehabilitation costs, those not covered by the insurance

    •    Chemotherapy and ongoing medical treatments

    •    Home care and support for her children during recovery

    •    Basic living expenses while they are unable to work

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. But even more than that, your prayers, love, and faith mean everything to our family. We believe in God’s healing power and in the strength that comes from a community of love.

As Psalm 46:5 says:

“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”

Nuestra familia está atravesando una de las etapas más difíciles que hemos vivido. Mi hermana, Nella —una madre amorosa de tres hermosos hijos y una de las almas más bondadosas que uno podría conocer— ha sido diagnosticada con cáncer metastásico.

Recientemente se sometió a una cirugía cerebral. Por la gracia de Dios, salió adelante de la operación, pero su camino está lejos de haber terminado. Los médicos han indicado que necesitará terapia de rehabilitación para recuperar su fuerza, equilibrio y más, seguida de quimioterapia y tratamientos a largo plazo para continuar luchando contra esta enfermedad.

A pesar del dolor y la incertidumbre, Nellita se aferra a su fe. Siempre ha creído que Dios tiene un propósito para todo, y enfrenta cada día con valentía, gracia y gratitud. Ha sido la roca de muchos cuando las cosas se ponen difíciles.

Quienes la conocen saben que ha dedicado gran parte de su vida a ayudar a los demás. Es la primera en ofrecer un hombro para llorar, en organizar apoyo para otros, en liderar la organización de padres del colegio (mom room) durante tantos años; la mamá del equipo de fútbol que se convirtió en el lazo que unía a todas las demás, el corazón que levanta a los otros y la persona que nunca olvida preguntar cómo estás cuando los tiempos son duros. Ha dado tanto amor y apoyo a todos a su alrededor; ahora nos toca a nosotros devolverle un poco de todo lo que ella ha dado.

Su esposo ha sido un ejemplo de fortaleza durante todo este proceso, trabajando incansablemente para cuidar de ella y de sus hijos, administrando el hogar y haciendo todo lo posible por mantener a su familia a flote. Pero la carga financiera de las facturas médicas, los traslados a citas, los medicamentos y las necesidades diarias se ha vuelto abrumadora, especialmente con el camino que aún tienen por delante. Es más de lo que una sola persona puede soportar.

Por eso hoy acudimos a ustedes, con humildad, para pedir su ayuda. Su generosidad permitirá cubrir:

Cada donación, sin importar su tamaño, hace una diferencia. Pero aún más importantes son sus oraciones, su amor y su fe, que significan todo para nuestra familia. Creemos en el poder sanador de Dios y en la fortaleza que nace de una comunidad unida por el amor.

Como dice el Salmo 46:5:

“Dios está en medio de ella; no caerá. Dios la ayudará al clarear la mañana.”

Les pedimos que mantengan a Nella y su familia en sus oraciones mientras continúa esta batalla. Compartan su historia, alcen su espíritu y ayúdennos a rodearla del mismo amor y compasión que ella ha mostrado a tantos a lo largo de su vida. Asi es ella:
