In September of 2021, my mom Nelda Travis was diagnosed with stage IV, high-grade mixed acinar-neuroendocrine carcinoma, a rare form of pancreatic cancer. My mom is currently receiving treatment under the supervision of a Neuroendocrine specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In addition to vast medical bills, my mom is also incurring travel costs (lodging, gas, food) in order to be at MD Anderson's facilities for treatment and evaluation.
