Hi my name is Anne Beaty and I am secretary of the Victorian Poultry Fanciers Association and live in Shepparton Victoria. The VPFA has asked me to organised a fundraiser to support Neil in his time of need. Neil Penny is a friend and also was a Director of the Victorian Poultry Fanciers Association for 48years.

I am fund raising for Neil Penny a well known poultry gentleman who lost his home, his birds and belongings in the 2026 Longwood bush fire.

Neil is a well known gentleman of poultry, open panel poultry judge, 48 years a VPFA Director, RASV Poultry Chairman for 14years and now a RASV committee member, Life member of the VPFA .

Neil over many years has supported many shows and clubs. Being a life member of the Leghorn club. Rotarian, Post Master for many many years and Justice of the Peace. Running a successful poultry farm at Moolap in Geelong for many years.

Neil has spent many many years breeding. One of those breeds being leghorns. Unfortunately Neil's life's work breeding his line of leghorns was completely wiped out due to the devasting Longwood fire. Neil's other breeds were also wiped out due to the bush fire. Neil also lost his extensive library, priceless paintings, photos and memorabilia.

The money will be used by Neil to be able to set up a home again. Neil was uninsured due to the location of his property being in a fire prone area. Neil will need to rebuild, buy furniture, purchase white goods, clothes etc.

Neil has provide many poultry people over the years with breeding birds, advice and support.
