Dear Waltham Community,

A neighbor is in need of support to pay for rent and bills after an injury resulted in losing her full-time employment as a caretaker for a family after nine years. She recently broke her wrist and damaged her nerves, resulting in a diagnosis of Chronic Pain Syndrome. She has had one surgery already and is due for another soon. She is in constant pain and is barely sleeping. Even with all this, she is currently trying to make ends meet by working as a DoorDash delivery person, but that is not enough to cover her expenses.

She is responsible for her 14-year-old nephew, whom she has full custody of, and is behind on rent and utility bills. She applied for disability via Social Security, but her claim has stalled due to the government shutdown. She really needs all the financial help she can get. Please consider helping her pay off some of her back bills while we try to get her connected to agencies that will be able to help her.
