Typhoon Tino, internationally known as Kalmaegi, has struck the Philippines. It is very devastating since we recently experienced multiple earthquakes and a volcanic eruption in the past couple of months. Islands are suffering from severe flooding and displacement, including my hometown, Negros Occidental.
Our church, St. Mary Magdalene Parish, even under construction, opened its doors to people who have lost their homes from this calamity. These people have lost not just their belongings, but their homes, and the area has no power. They are in need of clean water, food, and dry clothing right now.
$1 is equivalent to PhP58 (Philippine Peso), which can buy them maybe a pound of rice and a small bottle of clean water. If you can donate a dollar, this can help at least one person sitting in that pew, waiting for when they can go back to the homes that are basically gone. I am urging you to help them recover from this catastrophe. All proceeds will be used to pay for cooked food and clean water for the families displaced by the typhoon that are staying at St. Mary Magdalene Parish church. Thank you, and please pray for the Philippines and its people.
