Neelix is a giant orange Anatolian shepherd mix with a heart bigger than he is.
He was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer. It is an extremely painful cancer that rapidly causes bone deterioration and breaks.
Luckily, we've caught this cancer pretty early. Right now it is localized to his left rear leg. The rest of his body is clear and his vitals are very good.
While he has lost the use of that leg, he is in very good health otherwise. He is able to move around on his own well using his other 3 legs and still gets excited to go for walks and hang out outside with his brother.
The doctors say he is a good candidate for treatment, and amputating his bad leg would make him feel much less pain and give him a fighting chance against the disease. The sooner we can do this, the better his chances are.
We're asking for your help raising money for Neelix's surgery and aftercare. Help us relieve his pain and give him a chance!
