Neeka is an 11-year-old girl critically injured in the August 17 RV crash on Teton Pass. What began as the worst night of her family’s life has now become a fight for her recovery.

First, we are overwhelmed by the love people have shown Neeka and Michelle. Every donation, share, message, and prayer has meant more than we can express.

When we started this fundraiser, we were still trying to comprehend what had happened. We now know that Neeka’s road to recovery will be much longer and more complicated than we initially understood.

After the crash, Neeka was Life Flighted twice and remains hospitalized in Salt Lake City under the care of a team of specialists. She has undergone major surgery for injuries sustained in the crash, including a broken leg, injuries to her spleen and other internal injuries, as well as additional broken bones. She continues to receive intensive treatment for her injuries and the complications that have followed.

Her recovery has already brought frightening setbacks alongside hopeful steps forward. Some days have brought progress. Others have reminded us just how much her body has been through. Right now, her family is taking things one day, and sometimes one hour, at a time.

They don’t know exactly what the coming weeks and months will look like. They only know that Neeka has a long road of healing and rehabilitation ahead of her.

At Michelle’s request, we will continue to protect Neeka’s privacy and won’t share every detail of her medical condition publicly. What we can share is that this incredibly strong 11-year-old has survived something unimaginable, and she is still fighting through an incredibly difficult recovery.

As the reality of that journey has become clearer, we’ve increased our fundraising goal.

Two emergency Life Flights, surgeries, an extended hospitalization, future rehabilitation and medical care, travel between Idaho and Utah, lodging, meals, time away from work, and countless unexpected expenses are adding up quickly. And right now, there is no way to know exactly what Neeka’s recovery will require in the months ahead.

Our goal is simple: give Michelle the ability to stay focused on her daughter instead of worrying about how she will pay for everything that comes next.
