Saving and Rehoming Strays is a small independent charity based in Ayr, Scotland.
At any time we have around 50 dogs at our rescue centre, many of which are not rehomable and will spend the rest of their lives in our care.
Many of these dogs are old, disabled or poorly, but all of them live at their best lives in a wonderful kennel free environment.
As a charity we raise most of our funding through events such as auctions, tombolas, car boots and other on site sales events and because of this always have lots and lots of donations on site.
Last year we erected a purpose-built donation shed where everything was stored, but unfortunately Storm Eowyn took this apart on 24th January this year, when 95 mile an hour winds tore through the rescue centre.
It was a very scary time for everybody, and we were lucky to escape with so little damage, but unfortunately this building is a vital part or organisation and without it we are lost.
We have been fortunate enough to obtain temporary on site storage for everything, but only have this for a month or so and are going to need to build a new and much more substantial timber structure to house them after this time.
Unfortunately, the cost of timber is through the roof at the moment and we are looking at a cost of around £3,500 to do this and that is money that we honestly do not have
We are sadly yet again, reaching out to our supporters to help us raise these funds and have until the beginning of March to do this.
Absolutely anything you can spare will be gratefully received and will go to all helping us to carry on funding our work through these events.
Many thanks
