Dear community,
I had to edit and remove certain personal information that could reveal our identity, as I fear for the safety of my family—especially my son—and myself. I sincerely apologize for this, but I cannot risk any further harm coming to us.
I hope for your understanding and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hello, I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for urgent help during one of the most difficult moments our family has ever faced.
In December 2024, our 14-year-old son traveled to another country to spend the holidays with extended family. What was meant to be a short visit turned into a painful and unexpected ordeal. Days after his arrival, we were informed that — “according to our son” — he no longer wished to return to live with us in Canada. The claims made no sense, and as his parents, we immediately knew something was wrong.
We initiated legal proceedings both in Canada and through the Hague Convention, as our son is autistic and vulnerable to emotional manipulation. Tragically, he had been influenced to believe a false narrative, to the point of accusing us of abuse — a claim that was entirely unfounded. As a result, the that country’s court denied us our parental rights, leaving us devastated both emotionally and financially.
Despite all this, we never gave up. Over time, conflicts arose in his living situation in that country. Eventually, our son contacted us directly, asking to return home. The stress and emotional turmoil triggered a relapse of anorexia nervosa, a condition that had previously been under control here in Canada with the support of his pediatrician and family.
On June 13, we finally succeeded in having the travel ban lifted. Our son is now legally allowed to return to Canada — but we need help to bring him home safely.
We are urgently raising $3,000 CAD to cover:
• Round-trip airfare from Canada to that country for my husband, who will travel alone to bring our son home.
• A 2–3 day hotel stay in that country.
• A new bunk bed, because our son has asked not to sleep alone.
All of our savings have gone to legal fees. Now we need support to reunite our family and help our son return to the safe and loving environment he deserves.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. And if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Every share brings us one step closer to our son.

About the image we used:
To protect our son’s mental health and emotional well-being, we have chosen to use an illustration of our family instead of a real photo. He is autistic and currently in a very vulnerable state after everything he has endured. We hope you understand that this choice comes from love and protection — not secrecy. His privacy, safety, and recovery are our top priorities.
