Help Needed for the Polanski Family

On Thursday January 16 at 4:26am the Polanski family was struck by a tragedy that forever changed their lives. Waldemar, the keystone of the family, suffered a massive brain stem bleed that infiltrated a large portion of the brain stem and into the 4th ventricle. The doctors and nursing staff have offered tremendous support during this difficult time however, they have provided little hope for recovery.

Waldemar is the most kind-hearted and loving man you can imagine. The love he has for Dorota, his wife of 30 years, has never wavered. You could tell Waldemar's love for her has only grown stronger over time by the way he looks at her. Waldemar's family has always been his number one priority. This includes his two children, Michal and Natalia, who are always his first priority. Even when it would mean Waldemar would go without, he would never hesitate to go out of his way to make sure they are happy and healthy.

For Waldemar, it doesn't end at his wife and children. His view is that everyone is family and people you don't know are just family you haven't met yet.

The first thing anyone would notice about Waldemar is a sense of warmth and a great love for life. Any room he walks into is instantly lit up by his contagious smile. Never shy and always quick with a joke, Waldemar makes friends everywhere he goes. His family knows if you leave him alone for even a few minutes he will have started a conversation with a complete stranger who would quickly come to be known as a friend.
