Help needed for the Drug treatment for our son
Donation protected
Please help where you can, as every little will help so much!
Our son Kristjan is an incredibly bright young 25 year old, who this summer passed his Master’s Degree in Theoretical Physics from Durham University. All of us are so proud and now so shocked at how quick his health has deteriorated due to a Grade 4 brain tumour found shortly after graduating!
The tumour (located on his brain stem) has affected his health in many ways including his vision, his speech, his swallowing and paralysed the whole right-hand side of his body! He is currently on a feeding tube, so that he can receive his Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. The consultants have explained to us that he would benefit greatly from receiving a drug called Avastin, this drug treatment is used with chemotherapy and hits your cancer from another angle. Avastin is a tumour-starving (anti-angiogenic) therapy. The purpose of Avastin is to prevent the growth of new blood vessels.
This is not funded by the health service and so we have taken a loan to start funding the treatment, but we need your help in raising more funds to help with the ongoing medical treatment to help our son in getting better.
Please donate what you can, so we can fund this ongoing treatment and we really don’t mind if you can only gift €0.25, €1 or as much as you feel you could kindly gift without affecting you. With your generosity we can get our intelligent, beautiful, and kind son back to start his life the way it should have been before this tragedy.
If the funds exceed the amount required for Kristjan's treatment we will donate the excess funds to Childhood Tumour Trust.
Many thanks in advance
Kristjan’s loving family
