I have been living with serious kidney issues for some time now, which means I rely on regular dialysis to survive. These treatments have already taken a huge toll on my body and my daily life, but I have continued to attend every session and do my best to stay strong.

On what should have been a routine trip home from the medical centre after dialysis, my life changed completely. I was involved in a motor vehicle accident that left me with severe spinal injuries. I am now facing the reality of needing spinal surgery, something I never imagined I would have to go through on top of my existing health challenges.

Doctors have explained that this surgery is critical, but there is also a very real possibility that I may be left with long-term mobility issues, including the chance that I may become wheelchair-bound. The uncertainty has been overwhelming, and the physical and emotional impact has been difficult to process.
