Help needed for Risha’s medical struggle!
Donation protected
Hello friends, I am posting this and asking for your help in supporting my long-time friend Risha and her little girl.
Risha lives and works in South Lake Tahoe and has been admitted to Barton Hospital off and on since late May. She is currently admitted with no clear schedule of being released. She is a single mother, and the stress and financial burden that her emergency medical issues have caused is putting them at risk of losing their home. She has been unable to work and will need to focus on her health and recovery for some time once released. Please consider donating or share if possible. Below are details on the journey that has put her in this tough situation.
End of May, went to Barton with extreme lower back pain again. Met with my back surgeon; he referred me to Dr. Degrade to try a more in-depth epidural in my L5-S1 instead of a fusion. Had that done. Had an amazing 3 days of relief, and then we were back to square one. Tried to walk, suck it up, got a referral for physical therapy, but it was booked out a few weeks unfortunately. First week of July, was in a great amount of pain and feeling sick. Finally went to the ER on July 9th. CT scan due to my uncontrollable bleeding found I had ruptured cysts on my right ovary. Blood test showed I had something called acidosis. Was immediately moved to ICU. Dr. said I had a 70-80% chance of death if I had not gone to the ER to get checked out. Was in there a week. Had a cough and low-grade fever 2 days before that discharge. Went home, cough and breathing kept getting worse. I gave it time until breathing was just way too uncomfortable. Took my daughter and drove us to the ER this 7/23. Oxygen was at 83%. Swabbed, blood, X-ray of chest. Turns out I have pneumonia, so they are admitting me. ER Dr. said maybe 1-2 days here. Today they did another X-ray. Pneumonia has spread to my lower left lung. So at least another 2 days here. I’m on oral, IV, and inhalation steroids, along with pain meds, cough syrup with codeine, Mucinex, some Tessalon Perles cough drop pill, IV fluids, and cough drops.
Any amount would be a blessing. I ask that you all please consider helping along with prayers for healing and comfort for Risha and her daughter.
Thank you everyone!
