Hello family and friends. My name is Rick Little and I currently live in Port St. Lucie, in St. Lucie County, Florida. I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out for help needed during an incredibly difficult time, and I’d like to share what’s going on in my life.

As many of you know, hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated many parts of Florida, including my area. Unfortunately, I was not only caught in the chaos of these storms and tornadoes, but also faced another serious medical issue that landed me in the hospital for a combined 25 days. And to make matters worse, my health challenges have been ongoing for years—since October 2020, as I’ve spent over 300 days in the hospital in 4 years, enduring dozens of surgeries and endless procedures. I’m beyond grateful to my medical team, but it has left me struggling physically, emotionally, and financially.

The most difficult issue I'm facing right now is while I was in the hospital, my SUV—which is vital for me to live and function—was impounded. Worse yet, I’ve lost my housing last year and I’ve been living in my SUV ever since. Without my vehicle, I’m completely homeless as it’s not just a car—it’s my only shelter. Getting it back is not just a matter of convenience; it's the only way I can have some stability in my life as I continue to struggle and deal with these medical challenges and financial battles.

I'm reaching out asking you for help through donations. The costs to get my SUV back on the road, as well as rising medical supply expenses not covered by insurance—have become overwhelming. I’m disabled and still in the long process to receive disability and currently, I have no other reliable income, except tutoring a few students in math, which I can't get to without my vehicle.

This is where I urgently NEED YOUR HELP. I’m currently without a place to live, and every day without my SUV means I’m on the street without any shelter. The costs of getting my vehicle back on the road, along with medical supplies/expensis not covered by insurance, is about $4,695. I’ve done everything I can to cut back on expenses, but I’m at a point where I CAN'T GET THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME without your support and help – I'm reaching out and ASKING FOR YOUR HELP, PLEASE.

I’ve always been an outdoor person—I love nature, camping, and backpacking—but living out of my SUV isn’t a choice anymore (#vanlife); it’s my ONLY OPTION. And now, even that’s been taken away from me.
