Help needed for Rick & Lisa McMillen

Hi, my name is Jackie Cordle. For those that are unaware, on April 21st, Rick McMillen had a sudden cardiac arrest and subsequent drowning that occurred while in Mexico on vacation with his wife and friends. This resulted in him receiving 20+ minutes of CPR and requiring 3 shocks from a defibrillator. After this, he did wake up and shockingly suffered zero neurological impairments. After arriving to the hospital in Mexico, he and his wife were confronted by a hospital that refused to treat him unless services were paid upfront as he didn’t have any insurance in Mexico. Per the hospital, he needed to be transferred to a “public” hospital that accepted people without insurance. Prior to them transferring him, they weren’t’ going to allow Lisa to leave until payment was made. They thankful accepted a down payment and were able to get him transferred. On arrival to the second hospital in Mexico, they were again confronted with the need to pay up front. During this time, their daughter Amie, a nurse in Indiana was able to make some contacts and start arranging for an air ambulance to bring him back to the United States. The physician in Mexico felt as though it would be too dangerous for him to transfer, but per reports, he needed to return to the US for the best care. Amie was able to contact Jet I.C.U., which is based out of Tampa, Florida and arrangements were made to have a private jet air ambulance pick him up in Cancun. Knowing the risks, they all agreed the safest plan was to get to the US. This also meant he would be able to use his home insurance. Jet I.C.U. arrived to pick him up in what felt like record time and transported him to St. Joseph’s hospital in Tampa, Florida. After more testing it was determined her would need open heart surgery. This was completed on 4/26 and he is doing remarkably well given everything he has been through. Through everything Rick and Lisa have needed to fund the up-front medical care in Mexico, the flight from Mexico, hotel stays, uber rides, additional flights, and several other unexpected expenses. Any help would be appreciated
