Help needed for radiation treatment in Seattle
Donation protected
My niece, Autumn Langdon, age 15, needs to travel to Seattle, Washington for 2 months of proton beam radiation to treat her craniopharyngioma tumour. The cost of travel and accommodation is not covered as she will be going to the United States for this treatment that is not available in Canada. We are asking for help for the family to cover the costs of travel, accommodations and lost wages.
Autumn was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma at age 7 and has undergone two surgeries along with 2 rounds of inter-cystic interferon to treat the tumour. She recently had another surgery in October which was unsuccessful and is now faced with having the radiation or potentially losing her vision. She will start treatment the week of January 24th as this has become pressing and needs to happen as soon as possible.
Autumn's mother, Teri-Dawn, is a small business owner and will need to be away from work for up to 4 months to support Autumn. She has had to hire an employee to run the business while she is away and there will be little to no income support available to her at this time. Her father, Jamie, will be traveling intermittently to Seattle to support Autumn and Teri-Dawn.
They will need money for travel expenses, rental of accommodations and lost wages.
We are asking for help from anyone that is able to assist at this time. We all love and admire Autumn and are so excited at the prospect of her being free of this tumour and regaining good health. Thank you so much for your support now and throughout the years.
