I am starting this fundraiser to help with vet expenses for Phoebe. My fiancè has had Phoebe since she was a kitten, and she is such an important part of our little family. We took Phoebe to the vet last week because she had been having some concerning GI issues and had some specialty testing scheduled, but she stopped eating this week and became really sick. Taylor took her to the emergency vet, and she was severely dehydrated, had a high fever, and had lost a lot of weight since her visit to the vet a week ago. With more testing they found that her liver and intestines were inflamed. They have had to keep her at the emergency vet hospital for three nights on IV antibiotics and fluids, and though they have ruled out some of the scarier untreatable infections, they are still unsure what is wrong with her or what her treatment will look like. We are waiting on more tests to come back, and pending those results, will have to make some tough decisions about what kinds of more invasive testing we want to pursue. Phoebe is only four years old, and we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to have as much time with her as possible, but emergency vet care is incredibly expensive, and with our wedding coming up in a few months this unexpected expense has been overwhelming.
