Help Needed For My New Insulin Pump

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Vincent, and I’m living with type 1 diabetes. I’ve been insulin-dependent since January 2010, and I rely on an insulin pump to keep me alive and functioning every single day.

Right now, I’m using a do-it-yourself system that runs on software I’ve built onto my phone. It’s been working, but my doctor is concerned about the long-term reliability and safety of this setup. They’ve recommended I transition to a new commercial insulin pump that has recently become available in Canada.

Unfortunately, the new pump comes with a $1,000 out-of-pocket cost. With the rising cost of living, high debt, and ongoing medical expenses, I simply can’t afford it right now.

I work full-time in a high-stress, fast-paced job, and while my insurance covers most of my diabetes supplies, the cost of this pump isn’t included. As someone managing multiple chronic conditions, this isn’t something I can safely delay or go without. Without a dependable insulin pump, my health is at serious risk.

This isn’t easy to ask, but I’m reaching out to my community for support. Any amount — no matter how small — will bring me one step closer to the life-saving equipment I need. And if you’re unable to donate, a share means just as much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for caring, and for supporting me through this. Your kindness means more than I can say.

With gratitude,
Vincent.
