Help Needed for Mr. White

My name is Stark Ryan. I met Mr. White in 1999 as a student at his summer math camp, and he taught me until 2005. He changed my life, as he has changed the lives of thousands of students during six decades of teaching at Honourable W. C. Kennedy Collegiate and Honourable Vincent Massey Secondary School. Recently, his own life has changed, and he needs the help of the amazing community that he has been instrumental in building.

The last few years have been exceptionally difficult for Mr. White. His health has deteriorated, resulting in multiple hospital admissions during the last three years. He has been transferred back and forth between home and assisted living facilities several times, at extraordinary, unexpected cost. He has been in assisted living for the past six months, the continued costs of which will cause him to lose his home. We can prevent this outcome.

Achieving our goal to raise $36k will cover one full year of Mr. White’s assisted living expenses. He will then be able to focus on improving his strength and mobility to return home safely, and resume teaching math on a smaller scale. Mr. White has had a profound impact on math and education in Windsor and his legacy will live on through his students, who share his fondness for learning, wisdom, and life. Those of us taught by Mr. White are privileged to have been mentored by a generationally great and inimitable teacher. After a lifetime of commitment to education, Mr. White should not have to worry about making ends meet. Our collective effort and financial support can make a significant difference in his life. Although he has fallen on tough times, he is resilient and continues to strive towards doing what is most important: teaching students how to think and succeed in life.
