Hi. My name is Terri and with great humility and embarrassment, I am asking for help. I know there are some who will judge me for doing this, but I have run out of options. If you are unable to help, please help by sharing my post. Again thank you for taking time to read this.

In 2023, I was diagnosed and underwent treatments for cervical cancer. I am now cancer-free so far. I worked almost every day while going through radiation treatments, both external and internal, and chemo treatments. But being 66 years old, I started feeling so exhausted I could hardly get out of bed after my treatments were done. I made the difficult decision to quit my job and try living on just my social security and savings. I am still paying off those bills because Medicare doesn't pay for everything.

Fast forward to 2025, I have always had a stiff, sore neck and woke up one morning with numbness in my arms from my elbows down to my fingertips and numbness from my knees down to my toes. My balance was so bad I had to watch how I walked. On Good Friday, I was at a garage sale and fell very hard on the cement that I saw stars. This started a long process of a visit to my doctor, an EMG test, numerous visits to a pain and spine specialist, twice-weekly visits to physical therapy (which proved to be ineffective), x-rays, an MRI, and now a neurosurgeon.

The MRI showed significant damage to my neck and now I am looking to have a corpectomy. My Medicare does not cover the whole cost of this surgery and that is why I am asking for help to cover the cost that is not covered and living expenses as my savings is gone and I can't get a job now until this nightmare is over.
